Her mother is Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of the mobile operator Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director and businessman of an Internet-based company was her father. She was raised in an elegant Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan as part of the family of a Catholic family. The reason for this is that she was enrolled by her parents in the Convent of the Sacred Heart which is a prestigious and exclusive school. She was an avid musician since childhood. She started playing the piano at the age of a child. In her teens she penned the first track. Nights at open mics were her preferred nights. She was a devoted fan of Queen Michael Jackson, Madonna and David Bowie. After completing high school, she entered the Tisch School of Art of New York University to study music. Her education didn't last long and decided to quit in order to pursue her musical career.
