Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed within Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents for the town where she was raised in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father was from a Jewish origin. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder relocated with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family lived in a place without electricity. Ryder was a voracious read because they had television. When she turned 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas when she was just fifteen years old. Ryder endured bullying while in high school. She hoped that her career in acting would alter that. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. But she pushed on with her dream. In 1988, the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that she got her big break. Ryder played roles that were successful in various films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her role on The Age of Innocence (1993).
